Ok, so i can't get into the doctors until after Christmas. I injured it last Friday whilst jogging. I think i must of jolted it or something, as i was running it started to hurt on the left hand side just below my hip. I'm not getting numbness or shooting pains in my legs and it's not my spine, just an ache when i walk. I can bend and strecth fine, it's just when i walk or sit in a chair it aches..any advise, is it serious? How long do bad backs take to heal? I'm a 25 male. Thank you all...

You need an adjustment. Contact a chiroprator.

Secondly most back problems are caused by weak muscles. Do crunches to work your abdominals. They have very much to do with keeping your back properly alligned.
