Depends on your point of view. Should we as a nation sit back and watch as large chunks of the world live in poverty and oppression or do something about it knowing that it may cost lots of money and possibly lives. Ive been to Iraq and am undecided if this nation building thing is worth it. Overall, I think that if we succeed in making peoples lives better in the end then it is worth the sacrifice. These nations can then aid others, if they choose. Its easy to sit in comfort of the USA and ignore what the rest of the world goes through on a daily basis. The poor amongst us are rich compared to many in 3rd world. Dont know how well that answers things.
