The Everyman Cinema, Hampstead, London is showing `Some Like it Hot` on New Year`s Day. They advertise the film as one which shows MM at her `spontanous` best.
There is absolutely nothing spontanous about the performance in the same way as there is nothing spontanous about Fred Astaire`s dancing.
True, he makes it seem easy. True, she makes it seem effortless.
Fact, they both worked like pigs to create this aura of effortless.
Bless them both.

She was still one of the most beautiful women ever to have lived, in my humble opinion! And a fantastic actress too.
