Since I've been answering question on Q&A I have found that I get a lot of thumbs down. That's ok.
I always thought I was right and the way I think and feel about things is the right way, turns out I'm wrong. I'm not too bothered by it, I just accept that I'm not perfect.
Does this ever happen to anyone else?
Or worse when you know that your advice is right (like technical things when there is only one right answer) and you get thumbs down.
Or when you think you are being witty and no one else thinks so?
Am I the only one who has had to take a step back and think gee they didn't like my response?

good point I would give u a thumb up right now but it looks like i can't vote yet :( anyways I'm new here and I'm a lil different then u because unlike u I get no thumbs up or down lol I would b shocked if I ever get a 10 haha but i don't care about this voting stuff of course it would b awesome if somebody chooses u as the best adviser :p but it doesn't matter, you know that person reads your answer and gets at list a second good opinion, so just sit back, relax and ask whatever u need to ask and help others find solutions to their questions ;) just have fun!

Yes, some people have strange ways of choosing thumbs down and thumbs up answers.
Have you tried to analyze your answers where you got a large no. of thumbs down, with the answers given by others (including those that got thumbs up and best answer)? You might find a pattern emerging that might show whether your thinking on these topics is radically different from the rest of those who answered.

Even if you get thumbs down, dont worry, as you dont get negative points! It really hurts if technically correct answers get undeserved thumbs downs. Maybe in such cases you can write additional comments, and try to contact the askers of these questions through your YA (if they too have YA e mail facility) and tell them that your answer was right. I had once got a best answer selection when I was harsh in my answer and then I had interesting correspondence on YA e mail with the asker who had a puckish sense of humor!
Of course there is no way of finding out who all gave you thumbs down, but just recall if you had revealed your YA avatar ID to someone who may be doing this to spite you!
Witty answers sometimes dont appeal to serious minded people and you can do nothing about it.
Your rate of best answers at 12% is quite good and you have already reached level 2 in a short time. So there is nothing wrong with your answers. Dont get disheartened and go ahead answering more questions.

Don't worry! I think a lot of us experience that. It is just the fact that nobody can please all of the people all the time. Believe in yourself and that is all that matters. There may be some who are not happy, but then there would be others who totally agree with you and really that is just life I suppose.

You are the only one who feels this way!
There,
don't you feel special now.
I gave the best answer.
