You have either a head gasket gone or a cracked cylinder head , i have just had to completly overhauled an Renault Megane because the driver persisted in topping up the water every day , normaly it would have cost about £450 to change a head gasket it cost him £1400 instead , the water built up on top of the piston through the broken gasket and the extra pressure bent a con rod

You most likely have a cylinder head gasket that allows cooling liquid (water and coolant) to enter into the cylinder and get combusted. Boiling water creates steam and that is basically what you see coming out of the tail pipe.

You should definitely fix this. It's not good for the engine and you don't get the best performance from it.

White smoke is water mixing with oil and burning.

The water intake is a symptom of a crack in your head gasket between water, oil and combustion chamber. The worse possibility is that its a crack in the castings.

You need to stop using the car immediately and fix it. There will be an oil/wter emulsion in your sump and you engine will be dead anytime soon,

White smoke is the signal that you have coolant seeping into the combustion chamber or your engine.

This is normally caused by a blown headgasket or cracked cylinderhead.

Depending on how much the car is worth you need to get it fixed or just drive it until it blows.

But it will not last much longer.

Sounds like a head gasket obviously, as mentioned. I would recommend doing a compression test or cylinder leakdown test on the cylinders to pinpoint what cylinder and how bad it is. Terrible compression would obviously be the cylinder where the gasket has went bad. when doing the cylinder leakdown test take the radiatior cap off and you will see air bubbles. (radiator cap) not the overflow cap. MUST BE FIXED!

White smoke especially at startup is a head gasket. It MUST be repair or you will be left on the side of the road. Blue is oil consumption.

Yep, your head gasket is leaking coolant through to the cyclinder, your engine is burning coolant, not a good thing. Take it and get it fixed asap.

You need to get your car to a garage sharpish while the cost wont be too high. As soon as your car breaks, it will cost you a fortune. Not to mention the inconvenience!!!
