I usually just give a $20 dollar tip at xmas. If you are trying to get in her pants though, you might actually go buy something that shows you have been listening to her.

You sound like you may be attracted to the girl who cuts your hair. It sounds like you are interested, but not sure if she feels the same, thus, the $20 gift. The $20 (non-gift cert.) gift says " I want you to notice me as a nice guy, but I don't want to seem needy". I say get her something that would open the door. Maybe a prepaid phone with your phone number pre-installed into the contacts list, and #1 on the speed dial. Try this, buy two tickets (movies, theater, sporting event, etc...) rip them in half, and give her half of both of them in a Chistmas card with an open invitation, and your phone #. I know these ideas are more than $20, but I had a strange feeling you might be into this girl, and needed a good way to get your foot in the door.

I know you said that you didn't want to give her a gift certificate but what about gift card to Sally's or a place where she can get stuff for her job. Just an idea. Good luck and Merry Christmas.

You simply Can't know her well enough if you are asking here.
So you better give her a gift certificate whether you want to or not.
Unless you want to do a little research on her" likes" by going to her workplace when she is not there.

Go to be beauty supply store. You could get her a ceramic flat iron , a brush set or comb set. A nice pair of scissors would be good also.

Instead of getting confuse like that, why don't you just try to help unlucky ones out there? Do some charity on Christmas... rather than to get hardly confuse with yourself for making the girl who cuts your hair happy(?!!) , until you have to ask this unimportant question in this Q&A.
Why don't you just try to help poor people and unlucky ones out there? There are so many unhappy people out there. There are so many people who are not as lucky as you. There are so many people who suffer and miserable out there... There are so many people who are unhappy on Christmas days.
Why don't you just try to help or do something useful for them? Like I'm trying to do.
