Every human is intolerant towards something. Most of the time the reason for intolerance is our education and how others in our surroundings think about others.
Would it be possible to be 100% tolerant or are there biological reasons (e.g. chemical reactions in the brain) that will create intolerance?

It's what Francis Bacon called an 'idol of the tribe' meaning a bias inherent to all of humanity.

We are kind and caring to all that we regard as being within an arbitrarily defined circle of kinship. Any who fall outside that boundary, are at best, treated with an eager suspicion. At worst by tortuous murder. By the average person anyway.

The key might be to extend that circle of kinship to all of humanity, but frankly I doubt that will happen. The small percentage of people who are leaders have too much to gain in cultivating divisions.

Nothing short of first contact will unite humanity, and even that might be wishful thinking on my part. We like to argue with each other too much.

I'm inclined to say yes. From an evolutionary standpoint a certain level of intolerance makes sense, and I think our brains have evolved this way. This doesn't make it right of course and I think nurture plays a bigger role than nature in this case

I would say we are imperfect beings living in a perfect universe so there is bound to be conflict. But I dont believe that means we cant change our nature and become more perfect.
