Having sex isn't necessarily a reason to change sheets immediately (if we changed our sheets every time we had sex...), but there are many other factors, such as if you shower just before bed or in the morning (if you shower in the morning your body will have accumulated more oils which will end up on your sheets), if you sweat a lot or a little while you sleep (how warm is your room, how many sheets do you use, how much heat does your body produce), and if you have pets that share your bed, leaving hair, dander and more oils.

How often you change sheets of course a matter of personal preference. Many people worry about bed mites, etc. Well, there are mites in the mattress, in the pillow (unless you have a pillow with a microfiber ticking that prevents them from getting inside) and I don't stress over it too much.

Usually we change the sheets every 2 weeks during the summer and every month during the winter. I know some people change them weekly but I'd rather save the water and add that much less soap to the environment.

Dead skin and oil from your body get into your sheets, so it is necessary to change them whether they are noticably soiled or not. Once a week is acceptable, more often if they become soiled by sexual activity!

Doesn't matter if you're sexually active. It's important to stay clean.
Change them about once a week.

Once a week. It is not a matter of sexual activity. It is a matter of the oils in your skin getting on them. In fact, if you ARE sexually active on them, wash them every time. If not, then once a week is perfect.

Twice weekly.
Monday to Friday is for working day.
And Friday to Monday is to anticipate any activity over the weekend (you want your sheets to stay clean and smell nice:) )
