the word 'ugly'?...based on how someone look...because my friends like to say so and so is ugly...and people always talk about what is beauty in your eyes...

Your friends are right. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
There is attraction. Beauty of allure. A lure. Shiny and noticeable at a glance. Often, much more, more often not.
OH, WAIT, the question was ugliness. Ugliness is that which angers people when confronted with it. Based solely on looks, the traditional answer is symmetry of facial features, weight, hair color, eye color, choice of fashion on a given day, Basically: The yahoo avatar essentials.
Realistically, it is meat and treat. Can you supply what I need kinda thing going on in the ugly dept. The phrase, "Looks are only skin deep." has been around for a very long time with very good reason. Everybody compensates for what is lacking in their lives. How well they compensate is everything in life. Merry Christmas.

I'd say someone who has poor personal hygene and does nothing to make themselves presentable in public is ugly. On the other hand, those who pass judgement and consider themselves too good to associate with others based on something as shallow as appearance are also ugly. The difference is one is ugly on the outside, and one is ugly on the inside.

Shallow people judge others on looks alone. No one can pre-determine before their born the way their face will look. I dont judge on looks but instead on the individuals personality. If they have a cold and nasty personality their ugly, on the other hand if they have a warm friendly personality theyre beautiful.

Ugly as not asthetically pleasing is in the eye of the beholder. I try not to judge people in this manner because it is very shallow. I try to imagine people all brains in jars and get to know them becuase some hideously ugly people I think are what people rate as the most beautiful people.

I would define it as, one who is ugly on the inside...someone who is sad, bitter, angry, snobbish, and hateful. This produces the outer appearance of an ugly person, regardless of how beautiful or not beautiful they look.
I've seen many "unattractive" people who appear "ugly" when you first look at them...but when they smile and show there personality, you start to see them as actually..beautiful.

Ugly is and are......child molesters, animal beaters, ...anyone that is disgustingly mean to another being. That to me is ugly.
As far as ugly having to do with physical attributes...or the lack of? Well, if you really really look you can see beauty in everything that God has created....

Ugly.... or.... beeeeeutiful !!!!!!! is just a thought and depend upon one's mind. i say , when i watch a nude lady, that seems me most beautiful but when a chld age of 8 or 9 watch the same, that spot makes the worst impression on his/her mind ............ so.... there is nothing ..ugly & nothing beautiful, all things are the matter their own thoughts...............
