The product specification for the frost free fridge freezer that I'm buying, says that the fridge does not have an automatic fridge defrost, where as on other products it does say they have an automatic fridge defrost!!!

if its frost free it shoudl be frost free, maybe there is a manual setting to clear the frost. I have never heard of a frost free fridge that wasn't frost free

This means that you will have to defrost the fridge seperately by removing all your food (put it in a coolbox), turning the fridge off INSIDE on the thermostat not at the mains and leaving the door open. Put a tray or similar underneath with a teatowel on it and let the ice all defrost. Wipe down the inside of the fridge with either fridge cleaner or a mild solution of bicarbonate of soda to clean it. Dry it with kitchen towel or similar or all the water will turn back into ice. Once dry, turn the thermostat back up, shut the door and leave for a couple of hours to cool back down. My Whirlpool fridge has a display inside that shows OK when it's at the right temperature. Put your food back inside and you are done.

If the freezer is auto defrost it will have tubes on the back that drip into a container over the motor where the water evaporates. Check this area when you defrost the fridge just to make sure that the freezer can auto-defrost and that the tubes aren't blocked (especially by peas!).

It could be that you will have to change a setting on yours to activate the frost free bit, whereas some fridges do this automatically without you having to do anything.

basically means that when it comes to defrost it has a seperate setting to defrost your freezer for you( saves you having to scrape off excess frost. or you could just turn off freezer and leave door open - does the same thing but can be messy

You are better off with the automatic defrost... otherwise you will need to defrost it.
Was that the question?

I work in appliances (lucky me!), if you can post a note with the make and model no. I'll double check for you if you like. Are you buying from the internet?? They're always getting the spec wrong!
