What you are talking about is exponential growth...it is a cycle that is never-ending and increasing in our society.

To put it in perspective,
a child is born-that child may breed two children who each have two children each.
The result-1 child in 1930 means 10-20 in 2006
unfortunately for the masses, people are living longer and longer-this means a full 70-90 years of filtration for one person to die and complete the cycle. The point I am trying to make is that exponential growth of the human race will eventually suffocate and destroy us. this may take a few thousand years but it will inevitably define our end

Think if this same type question was expressed 100 or 200 years ago ? Life seems to balance out one way or another...transitions, growth and adjustments are made and all seem fine in the end...with yet another question being asked 30 or more years from now . . . and so it goes. Live in the moment. Care and focus . . . yet experience the now.

I guess we have WWII to thank for that (because the end of the war is what caused the baby boom). Kind of scary. I guess the flu pandemic is a natural population control? I don't say it to be mean or sick, it is just a thought...so many other times have had mass-death due to a plague or whatever...it is just the population control for the 21st century.

I think 65 and older is a nice age. It means people are healthier and are living longer. It also means the sales of canes and hearing aids are going to soar.Stock up now while you can.

That's unsettling, but think about it, out population will decrease dramatically in the coming years after that, because most of them will die soon after that. You have to be a more defensive driver come then. Wow I will be 33 scary.

And you just heard about this? Welcome to the new millinium. Yes its prolly true. unless a plague comes thru that targets the eldrly.

And we're gonna have to pay for the old people because they'll be too old to contribute at that age. This is what the big Social Security scare is all abut.

how suprising. another person who thinks the world revolves around the US. did you know that AIDS is likely to wipe out Africa unless countries like the US get their heads out of their A ss's and help out. there's a thought!

ps I just think people should start getting a clue about the bigger picture - nothing personal :)

I've paid into SS all my life and it won't be there but thats ok i guess because it looks like there won't be enough people around to work menial jobs so I can go back to work at minimum wage. Whopee!
