I would say yes! because the tiger is slighlty bigger than the lion and weighs more aswell!! this would help in winning a fight if there was to be one!! but this also depends on the size of both the tiger and the lion! if a fully grow lion was to take on a young tiger( or visa versa), the lion is most likey to win!! it just all depends on the size, weight and determination both the lion and tiger have!! hope this helps =)

Tigers have been known to bring down elephants by biting into their spine at the back of their neck, a tiger is the only known animal to take on a cape buffalo (and generally lose) in a fight. A tiger outweighs a lion (both full grown) by almost 200 pounds. Tigers are incredibly strong and have been known to carry an animal twice their size for miles through the jungle to it's den.

Searched on Google and found:
Male lions weigh between 330 and 550 pounds and stand about about 48 inches tall at the shoulder. They measure up to 98 inches in length, not including the tail, which measures an additional 35 to 41 inches. Female lions are smaller, weighing between 265 and 400 pounds. They stand about about 42 inches tall and measure less than 69 inches in length, with a slightly shorter tail.

Tigers:Length 75–150 in (190–310 cm); tail 28–40 in (70–100 cm); weight 140–670 lb (65–306 kg). The largest cat, with an unmistakable reddish brown to yellow-ochre coat, with black stripes and white belly.

Since Tigers are "The largest cat" and the measurements prove it out, I'd say Tigers would win.

I answered a similar question three days ago.
Not all stands with muscles, but in INTELIGENCE.Think for a while...A tiger uses camouflage whilst a lion dosen't do nothing...Usually lionesses do the hunting.Although lionesses proul they're food they attack when they are about five meters from they're food.A tiger,on the other hand attacks it's prey when they are almost near them,at about one meter.
And power also stands in age.If a tiger is very old the lion would of won, whilst if it's vice versa, the tiger can win.
If it was to compare these two animal's inteligence I believe that a tiger would of won this battle, although these two titans meating is very unlikely.
I hope this helped you...And a Merry Christmas!

if your talking about in a one on one fight between a lion and a tiger i would go with the tiger....would most likely depend on the breed of tiger though because a siberian tiger can get up to eleven feet and are very powerful cats but lions are the "king of the jungle" if it were between a healthy full grown male lion and a healthy full grown tiger and i was a beating man i would go with the tiger hands down.......i am a big cat lover so i would rather it be a tie lol but the tiger would win

Might depend on which is the stronger swimmer. Tigers are in Asia, Sumatra, India, etc. Lions are in Africa.

No but, an Elephant is, it's one of the few animals a Lion won't mess with.

Considering that both have the same conditions and both lives at the same place, which they don't, the tiger would surely win.
