It's the most informative station a sports fan could ever hope for. But the anchors just suck so much. Stuart Scott is just annoying on every level, Bob Ley makes me want to shoot myself in the face, and Chris Berman is possibly the worst on-air personality in the history of broadcasting. He literally makes me wish I was not a football fan. He makes me want to kill small children and puppies every time I see him on NFL Countdown.

I cant say anything good about this so called sports station. I agree with all that has been said and to add. Sense when did poker become a sport. With all of the games being played with no TV broadcast and nothing of a game on ESPN. If ESPN took there mandatory package off of cable or the dish how much lower would that service be?

I think the Sportscenter commericals are hilarious, and have been for several years.
However, I can't stand the Sportscenter anchors. Everything is schtick to them, they can't just report on what happens on the field, and it got to be so annoying, I don't really watch SC anymore.
What I can't stand about Monday Night Football is the constant parade of celebrities plugging their worthless movies and pathetic TV Shows. They end up with FOUR people in the booth, and they don't even talk about the game being played.
The MNF crew isn't that good to begin with (I like Kornheiser on PTI, but he adds nothing to the MNF broadcasts), and it gets worse when Jim Belushi or Jimmy Kimmel adds their input. I don't need Jim Belushi to tell me what the Bears need to do to win it all this year...
Sportscenter used to be about reporting scores and showing highlights... the original anchors from 20+ years ago were good (Bob Ley, Gayle Gardner, etc... even Chris Berman wasn't bad in those days, but man, his nickname schtick got old 20 years ago... imagine watching a comedian do the same act every night for 20 years, word for word..that's what it's like watching Chris Berman).
SC Anchors think that SC is all about them, not about the sports and athletes they're supposed to be covering.
Also, poker is not a sport. Neither is hot dog eating. Maybe they should be a 23 hour all-sports channel, there obviously aren't real sports going on 24/7.

If they really are the world leader in sports, why are we not seeing sporting events around the world late at night instead of a continuous reel of sports highlights. there are games of somekind going on somewhere. Just because it is nighttime here doesn't mean the world stopped turning. When it is 4am here on the east coast it is 4pm and time for a soccer game in europe or a basketball game(or has that become the new Hockey?)

I think they've kind of leaned towards being over commercialized, but I love their commercials. I especially like the ones with the college mascots hanging out in their breakrooms, parking lots, or in their work spaces. I like the beer commercials and any of the ones with athletes in them. The ones with Peyton Manning are great or with Tiger or Sharapova. I still enjoy watching the Boomer, too. I don't like MNF games on ESPN too much. Limits poor guys without cable from watching NFL games. Overall, they are fun to watch. Oh yeah, I love ESPN Classic, especially the old boxing matches.

No,
But Again I hate it that they have Monday Night Football now. For some reason every since ESPN took over MNF I have a way of missing the first few minutes of the game.

I don't think it's too commercialized. If they didn't have a way to pay for what they do they couldn't cover as much as they do or hire the quality sports casters and analysts they have.
You may not like the commercials, but you would miss a lot of what those commercials pay for.

They are very informative, but they like to overhype games that they will be airing. They can show biased highlights at times swaying public opinion and should be a little more neutral.
