I took some anti-biotics for my H. Pylori infection, and now my vagina has started itching. There is this greenish whitish discharge that is hard and stiff. Can the anti-biotics cause a yeast infection?

Any antibiotic can cause a yeast infection and the high dose of antibiotics that are used to treat H. Pylori increase that risk. This is because the antibiotic kills the good bacteria that normally reside in the vagina hence allowing the yeast to grow out of control.
Symptoms of a yeast infection are usually itching, burning and a thick, white, cottage cheese like discharge. If you are not positive that it is a yeast infection, then you should see your doctor before treating it yourself. There are other vaginal infections that you could get even if you are a virgin. If you really don't want to go to a doctor, then treatment with an over the counter remedy, such as Monistat, won't hurt... other than if it is not yeast then you are delaying treatment for whatever it really is.

Yes, any antibiotic treatment can cause a yeast infection. The antibiotic works throughout your whole body and throws all of you bacteria balances off. This is why you can yet yeast infections. When you take a round of antibiotics you should increase your intake of yogurt and "probioic" foods to keep your health bacteria population up.

I would go to your gyno, or use a over the counter treatment for yeast infection.

Any antibiotic can cause a yeast infection. They haven't figured out how to make an antibiotic that only attacks the "bad" bacteria, but leaves the good bacteria. You need Monistat 7. Go get it at your local drug store.
