Is the Final Fantasy XII game a long game or...?

Depends on what you want to accomplish. If you want to find all the secrets, it's probably going to take around 50 plus hours.

But if you just want to zip through the game without finding any secrets or doing side quests, you can probably finish it in 20 to 30 hours.

It's hard to tell exactly how long it's going to take because in RPG, people play the game in different ways. Some people want to level their characters to the max, while others are happy with just getting by. Some people need all the secrets and some people are just happy without finding any weapons.

I'll gladly answer this one! Yes final fantasy XII is a long and great role playing game. You may not like it becuase the graphics are early playstation 1 though. Game play is about 72-77 hours long if you don't decide to level up to finish the Ultimate Weapons who are hanging around(It was 75 hours for me). Over 100 hours if you fight the Ultimate Weapons. All Final Fantasy games are long game though, but some like final fantasy 10 though can be ended in roughly 50 hours. Ofcoarse don't try to play it straight through. The good thing is you will get your money worth with most role playing games. However it may be longer for me becuase I always want to get most of the good weapons (the weapons that double or tripple the materia growth) and have all my characters of near or equal level, I rotate and use every character in my party. I also get all their limit breaks, and try to prolong Aries death by having her get her final limit break first.

If you tackle every sidequest and hunt, you'll have at least 80-100 hours in the game. It's terrific! I absolutely love it!
