The lower case lettering was a publisher's decision. Cummings really didn't care for it but rode w/ the flow.

or something like that. Hoo Boy, what a lover of words and syntactic thought and playfulness and humor, we should all be so lucky to have a smidgen of such fun talent.

Got a bone to pick - the name's supposed to be in lower case. I had to read him in high school - very risque at the time. However, I generally don't like poetry very much.
