One year at Christmas time my Dad, who worked for Kennecott Copper Mines, was on strike and he had to go out of town, he had been gone a few months, and he came home for Christmas. That was the best Christmas present, Daddy coming home.
And now I cherish those memories, because this is the 3rd Christmas that my Dad's been gone, it will be 4 years since he passed away in Feb.

My 2nd. best pressie,(for my 12th.b'day) was my Subbuteo table-top set, with a pr. of working floodlights. Pure Magic.
..and my 1st?. Oh that's DEAD easy..
When I was 13 I got my only FULL Celtic Football (soccer) strip..the top (with short sleeves), shorts & a pr. of long, thick socks..
That Xmas it was absolutely freezing, but little Markie, just HAD to go out, around 9 Am, and parade around the streets of South Glasgow, Scotland, wearing it..Pure Heaven..
Although I've now lived in England for 32 years, I have NEVER forgotton that wonderful present, which my late Mum,(as a divorced single Mother, back in the '60's) scrimped to save, to buy me that brilliant present.
Guess what my 9 yr. old son is getting this year (apart from his new Games Machine Etc)?
Here's a clue.. he's Celtic Daft..just like his older step-brother)..(;))
Take Care, and Happy Xmas/ Happy Holidays to EVERYONE,of all ALL faiths (or none) on here..
Take Care..
Markie Bhoy.

I got a play house in the garden. Santa had a small sack of presents and I was really disappointed - I'd asked for a TV for my room but knew 1) it was expensive and 2) my parents would never let me have one in my room. Then at the bottom of the sack was an envelope with "find your big present at the bottom of the garden... love santa". I played for hours in my house - it had a desk and little chairs and tables - it became our club house and filled many hours with imaginary games.

my best present ever was a dollhouse that my mom and dad put together for me for Christmas....I remember that I came downstairs Christmas morning and it was a 5 story dollhouse and it even had electricity! It was in the living room in front of the Christmas tree waiting for me. I still have the dollhouse to this day....

I got a Hornby trainset, and although I only played with the train set for about 2 hours, I used the polystyrene box as a fort for my £1 box of soldiers for months and months........
