It appears to be Croatian name and there was a Croatian Prince of that name in the fourteenth century.
Jean Paul Sartre used the name in his trilogy "Les chemins de la liberte" (The Roads to Freedom 1945-1949) where he uses the character of Ivich to disguise Olga Kozakiewich.

Another possibility:
In Russian, when -ivich is atteched to the end of a name it indicates that one is the son of said name.
ie:
If my name is Vlad Gogia, and...
my father's name is Boris, then:
My full name would be Vlad Borisivich Gogia.
Perhaps your middle name is a nod to this tradition...
