Am I the only one that has noticed this? Is it just to make them more attractive to men or are they really lesbian?

lol I believe that there's lots and lots of >open< minded people everywhere its just that in some places people are more accepting then other places...

I don't know this for a fact, but I know that the west coast is really liberal, especially in the bigger cities. They may feel a greater sense of acceptance around a larger per capita ratio of gays/lesbians. Or maybe it's something in the water here. Oh god! I think that's it, the water! I've been feeling a little, well, not quite myself ever since moving here. Oh no! I feel it coming on in huge waves. STOP DEMONS! Too late! Howdy sailor!

I believe that San Francisco is the homosexual capital of the world. They flock there in droves. It's become like their headquarters. And your add on comment makes no sense. Why would a lesbian want to make themselves more attractive to men?
