Stimulate him as much as possible during the day, even if it means going without a nap, go to the park or just be out and about as the weather will allow, wear him out, he will be cranky, but tired (and so will you, but you have a goal here). Feed him solid food no later than 6:00 and plan for a bottle around 8:00, between 6:00 and 7:00 give him a nice soothing bath, make this also a busy time for him, this will relax him, powder him down and then the last bottle for the night. It worked for me.

A good tip is some supper an hour before bed. Crush some rusk into some expressed breatmilk and give him that. Or I used to use baby porridge. i gave this at 6:30 and put her to bed at 7:30. You will know his tummy is full and then maybe you can decifer whether the breastfeeding to sleep is a comfort thing. Which to be honest I think it is. Gina Ford's Contented Baby Book is full of ideas for changing babies habits and controlled crying. Maybe you should give it a go her books are like bibles in my house!!!

This is a difficult one! Perhaps he is waking just for the comfort of feeding! Maybe when he wakes at 3, give him a bottle of formula! If it is just a comfort habit thing, he will soon realise he is not going to get what he wants. If he does drink the bottle, he is obviously just a hungry little lad, and perhaps you should give him a bigger supper, and give it to him as late as possible.
My son, woke three time a night until the age of one and a half! I did find once I stopped breast feeding, he settled a lot!! Good luck!

Mine were two years old before they started sleeping thru the night. I found the more they eat in the form of solid food, later in the day, the better they slept. It could just be habit .. if you are tired, u should perhaps try and nap during the day when baby does. This is the best way to ensure u are getting enough sleep.

I have three and all three of my boys slept through the night at 3 months old. I always make sure they were full, had a bath in lavender Johnson-Johnson, gave them a pacifier, and had some type of lullaby music on. Oh and make sure it is dark besides a night light. It is ok to let them cry. And mine usually fell back to sleep once they figured i wasn't going to come every time they cried. But check on them as many times as you want. If you don't feel your breast milk is filling him up give him some baby cereal mixed with warm breast milk!! That works to fill them up. and give him water afterward!! Good Luck!! Oh and when he cries in the middle of the night instead of going in there and feeding him, put the pacifier in his mouth. i hope my advice works!! Good Luck again!!!!!!!

i also have a young child and the only things i can recommend is not giving him protein foods before bed as they keep babies awake trying to digest the foods. also try offereing your child a drink of cooled boiled water rather than milk. after a couple of nights he may adapt to having water rather than milk then to having nothing at all. your child is possible getting used to having your breasts on stand by and possible just for comfort. as long as your baby is thriving he should be sleeping through so another recommendation is try cluster feeding. offer more feeds closer to bed time so your baby is satisfied and able to sleep. do you use a soother? this may be enough to get him back to sleep. good luck

One thing is that he might be hungry....they still have little tummies and so they can't go that long without food if they're hungry...one thing that might help is this....before you put him to bed and before you brush his teeth, give him a little snack...string cheese, a little bread....that will kind of fill up his tummy a little more before going down. Another reason that he may be getting up like clockwork is because it's a developing habit....you could try this....not necessarily let him cry it out but let him cry for like 5 minutes before you go in....then extend it to 10, then 15, etc. He may get himself back to sleep. Make sure there's nightlights in his room so that he doesn't get scared....they start to develop night terrors around this time too. Good luck!

start giving him a binky instaed of the feeding. He should be able to go without eating 2 times a night by now. If he refuses jst rock him back to sleep. Is all I can say...you gotta ween him off the night feedings. Maybe try a binky instead fo first meal of the nght at first and then maybe it will settle it.

my son slept thru the night from newborn to 6 weeks. then he started waking up during the night. just had to add some substance to his feeding before bed.

just try adding a cereal to his last feeding before he goes to bed, and make sure he has no gas, a clean diaper, and is warm. leave a radio playing softly, and maybe a tiny night light on.

I am still breastfeeding also, my son is only 5 months but I have found that if I nurse him longer before bed, then he will sleep later. Sometimes if my sons falls asleep while nursing, I will jostle him up and offer for him to nurse more. He sleeps until maybe 3 am (going to bed at 10) and then he's up again about 8-ish.
