If he's on solids then this sounds like he's just trying it on! When he wakes offer him some juice or water in a sippy cup and then put him back to sleep. He'll cry but keep offering the cup and then just ride it out. Once he knows that you're not offering milk then he'll start to sleep through. It'll be tough for about a week but stick with it- he's not hungry, it's just a habit. Good luck.
And don't feel selfish. A well rested mum is a happy mum!

You are doing the right thing by breast feeding, but perhaps you could try giving him formula for hungrier babies for the last feed before he goes to sleep, and breast feed the rest of the time. I had a hungry baby, but I couldn't breast feed, so I used to put a little bit of baby cereal or rice in his last bottle at night and he used to sleep right through. Failing that try and sleep during the day when he does to catch up on your sleep, he will go through the night eventually. Good luck lol

that rice powder in the baby section. It is a cereal you mix with water.. mix that up (you can make it thin enough to go in a bottle).. that stuff is filling and will keep them asleep longer. Just as formula lets them sleep longer then breast milk, this makes them sleep even longer... they don't wake up looking for food so fast...

It's really great ur still breastfeeding, if he's on solids make sure you make your own food as the calorie content in the jars is absolutley ridiculously low (check less than 100kcal each meal) boosting his calories with healthy homemade food should make him more fulfilled.
(If your so tired it's possible your not producing enough milk for his appetite I had this problem so used to compliment with formula:o)

Brest feeding is good, make sure you dont lose it. If not, you have to wake up at night make his milk. I think you better take him to sleep beside you. You can simply breast feed at night and continue sleeping.

There are a lot of things we have to sacrifice for our kids. Just have patience because when your baby grows up everything you've done will be all worthwhile and you'll get as much sleep as you want.
