I would rather raise my child alone, but I can 100% guarantee you I would be supporting myself and not getting benefits, I would work from home while the child was still young and as soon as it was school age I would get out and get a job and work for my money.

There is no substitute for happiness, including money. If you are self-reliant and responsible, you could manage your new life. I would not want to subject my child to an unhappy family environment. I would take my chances on making changes, taking on new challenges, and I think there would be much room for personal growth. You could always hope to meet someone else that's more compatible and who isn't stuck on himself to the point where you feel as though you'd have to hide all the mirrors in the home.

I am alone (almost 2yrs), I have 2 children. I can tell you of my personal experience that raising my children alone is great. The peace we have is priceless, and we do get by, even though at times it can be tight. I know that if I was to give my children a choice they would both prefer the quite life style that we currently live. I have had plenty of opportunities to have a "well off fella" yet am at peace knowing I have made the correct decision for myself and my children for now...Merry Christmas

"....but the guy you were with constantly got on your nerves and was a narcissist to the max...."
Listen to that!
They never get better!
Do you want to live with that for the next 40 to 50 years?
The child will get to leave at 18 if he or she is not happy with the whining and such...but YOU will still be married!
Freedom isn't free, you have to pay a price for your LIBERTY!
WAIT, if my daughter asked me, until you find
YOUR Mr. Right, not Mr. "Right-Now" !!!
The money aspect is tempting, especially if you have had to live on less than you need, but the price of the emotional imbalance and instability is ...Priceless!!!

You are never free of anyone you've had a child with. But throwing that part out of it. Personally I would leave. There is more to life out there, why be unhappy?

Many people choose their life partner according to their thinking. If any one choose according to God's will they can overcome the situation of this kind. Those who have God in their heart and life will not worry about any situation, they will overcome.

If I was a woman I would leave the guy. He has deep pockets, so why not make him share his wealth? Also, why stay with a loser?
