No I get offended when they DON'T. It's Christ's birth that we're celebrating, not some non christian holiday.

It's not the words that matter but the attitude behind them. If someone says Merry Christmas and means well by it, I take it as a nice greeting and wish the person a Merry Christmas back. However, some people have started saying it to be rude to non-Christians on purpose. Those people make Merry Christmas sound like "I don't give a damn what you celebrate because your religion is false and mine is right, so IN YOUR FACE!". When someone obviously doesn't mean it as a nice greeting I take it for what it is... rudeness. It doesn't offend me though, it just shows the pitiful ego of the person behaving like this.

Fortunately most people still mean it as a nice greeting.

No, but I think it's silly that people say "happy" before all the other holidays but "merry" before Christmas. I'd be more impressed if someone said "Happy Christmas."

deffinately not! It's Christmas time, i'd rather hear people say Merry Christmas than Happy Holidays anyway. Plus Christmas is celebrating the birth of Christ, hence the term CHRISTmas. So MERRY CHRISTMAS! ;)

Many different faiths have some form of celebration at this time of year and by saying a greeting other than Merry Christmas is just a way to greet others without offending in this enlighten and understanding age.

I deliver a newspaper around town and 9/10 times I hear Merry Christmas. Doesn't hurt me at all.

Absolutey not!
What hurts is being afraid you will offend someone by saying Merry Christmas. Far to many people have taken Christ out of Christmas.
