First will be all the paperwork (if you've already been to this doctor, it wont be as much). They'll probably ask you some basic health history questions and get your insurance info.
They will take a urine sample and weigh you (get used to these two things..they will do them every month). They will also probably run a bunch of blood tests (normal routine). They might do an internal exam and pap smear (depending on when you last had them done). They might attempt to listen to the baby's heart beat through your tummy with the doppler thing (they wont do this if you are real early...usually start around week 9 or so). That's about it. Congrats on the baby!

The first answerers answer s the best. but if you doctor wants to do a pap ask them to wait until 2nd trimester. New studies show that having a pap in the 1st trimester can increase your odds of misscarrigae by 40%

congratulations on your pregnancy :)
they will ask you a 100 questions..health questions..about you & your significant other & family history
then they will do a physical examination, including a breast exam to check for lumps,a papsmear, and a pelvic exam..and after all that fun they will poke you and draw blood..and run a whole work up on you to test from blood type to hiv testing and so forth
I know it sounds like hell but I promise you the first check up is always the longest and the last time you have to go through all that until its time to give birth of course..good luck to you and a happy & healthy 9 months!

They make you fill out paper work, get your insurance information and call your insurance to see if your eligible (if you have insurance). Then they'll ask you the questionaire (do you smoke, drink, had sex, have any diseases, family history of illnesses, take weight and height, etc). The doctor will give you a urine preg. test.

they will do a pregnancy test also (usually in office, sometimes they send you to the lab). The first prenatal, they weigh you, check internally, pap smear, tell you to take folic acid, and ask about your history

If your pregnant they will make you take a never test just to make sure and then they will just take you through all that family planning crap - if your having an abortion then they will book you in for one somewhere. Thats what happens in the uk
Bearing in mind out health care is free - but i am sure the procedure is just the same. They going to get you to strip or anything.

for mine, they confirmed pregnancy, did a pap smear, took blood and urine, made me answer a billion questions regarding the medical history of myself and the father, scheduled an ultrasound, weighed me, took my height, checked for breast cancer, stds and hiv, and took my blood sugar.
