I am not entirely sure what you want advice on, so here goes the advice I think you are asking for. Sorry if I am wrong, but you weren't clear.

One of my doctors said to my during my first pregnancy that you are NOT considered a patient because you are not sick, unless there are complications. This basically means that you have the right to make decisions about what is right for you.

That being said you need to get all the information you can before you make a decision. There is no real way to get out of pain when giving birth, and what works for one person may not work for another. A c-section, which is elective and common, here in Australia is really common, but a couple of women I spoke to said that it was the worst mistake because you still have to look after a baby while you stomach is trying to heal. It can get really, really painful. If you get pregnant again, you have no choice but to go c-section, because you have had one before and a scar doesn't stretch. Just so you know.

I have gone through 2 labours, and the first was induced and I had an epidural. with epidural they need to give it during a contraction and you have to keep still. The slightest movement and the needle won't get exactly the right spot, this for me meant, no pain relief. But worst case, it can paralyse you, but that very rarely happens.

The second labour was natural, it was too quick to be anything else. I am glad that it was...because my body felt better quicker, i started losing weight quicker, and I felt heaps better than i did the first time. i could have gone home within an hour, I felt that good. I know the pain is scarey, but whatever it is that you are building it up to be is nothing at all as bad as you imagine. Someone told me to imagine that worst pain ever (which for me was being burnt all over), and labour isn't half as bad. Mind over matter, half of the pain is fear of the unknown, and you can control that by this simple techinique. How? Because you will have prepared your mind for the worst, and when that doesn't happen you relax a bit, when you relax your muscles aren't fighting what is happening.

If you are worried about getting your body back to normal it is far far better to have a natural birth, because the female body is built for labour, and therefore can heal itself quicker. The difference between my two experiences was about six weeks, although it is different for everyone.

whatever you decide, if you have all the information then nothing anybody says will effect you at all.

congrats on this wonderful time in your life

If you are too "boney" to have a baby vaginally, then you are probably too boney to carry a baby to full term (37 weeks)...
And also...the natural birth thing...
Some people consider the baby being born through the vagina is natural birth... And, others consider the baby again being born through the vagina BUT....with no drugs...to be natural birth...
What do you think?
You can elect to have a c-section...but it probably will not happen unless the doctor approves....because even though it is just a way to deliver a baby....it is however STILL.....MAJOR SURGERY....and there are a lot more risks involved? Why are you against a vaginal birth? It's not that bad... as soon as you see your little baby...you don't even remember the pain...I am on my second pregnancy (due in 19 days) ...I have a 5 yr old son...and I cannot wait for the pain to come...so the I can see my baby...it's a girl this time..but anyway...if you are even pregnant...good luck...and if you are not...consider waiting...until you get more information on the subject..

Does not matter how thin or how fast your matabilism is it will not kill you, I have a very fast metabilism & am 5'6 100lbs at best and have given birth vaginally to 2 children & in 6 months will do it again. Csections are much more dnagerous unless there is a medical emergancy or mother has a STD! ANd yes you will be scared from a cection! Not to mention you can opt for a epidural that takes away pain. But since you are in school & being called abz...having a baby should be the last thing on your mind!

Natural is better. I just had a c-section I had to my baby was breech. I would have paid money to have her natural. The c-section sucks the pain is awful. That and it takes a long time to heal. U need help and u don't bond well with ur baby. If u plan to breast feed it will be a challenge if u have a c-section. Its not fun. Make sure u know what ur getting into. The scar sucks to.

i haven't had a c-section but I'm sure you dont want one... A c-section is major abdominal surgery, so it is riskier than a vaginal delivery...c-sections can cause higher risk for .infection, excessive bleeding, blood clots. not to mention the 6 weeks healing period. where you have to learn how to walk all over again and need help getting up.......a vaginal is only a few days of being sore.... and plus you'll have a scar. which after being pregnant you may or may not have your perfect Lil abs depending on how your pregnancy goes. but the "all natural" way is plain out crazy to me .... i believe in getting an epidural.. that's what great about medican advances.. who wants un necessary pain.. not me I'm 26 weeks now and I'm sure i want the epidural.. its not going to make me any less of a person that what they were invented for PAIN so why be bone headed and try to be big and tuff

I think its best to wait till ur pregnant .. as far as abs go, if ur with someone who loves you, they wont care what ur stomach looks like after birth, i can tell you you will have more to wory about than ur abs. C section is an easier way to give birth, but its not the easiest way as far as healing goes..
as far as numbing ur vagina, i dont think they do that.. at least they dont where i live..

Are you sure you are in school??? Realllly bad english there. I dont even understand half of it. But anywho...it is really hard to find a doctor who will do a requested c section. Normally they are done in cases of emergency or health problems. Recovery time is lengthened so you will need xtra help to help care for your child at first and infection chances go up. Not too smart of a plan there Einstein! Oh by the way jsut so you know...when yo udo get pregnant kiss those abs goodbye anyways cuz they are gonna be OUT THA DOOR! Your belly will strech and bam there it went. So say goodbye to those sexy abs and nice body ...hello belly POOCH! Even worse on a skinny frame.

I ended up having to have an emergency c-section with my son and I never felt like I was less of a woman because of it. Some women are too hard on other women. It does not matter how the baby is delivered....it is still a blessing. Next time someone tells you to go natural just tell them that it is really none of their business.

Well if its ur abs ur worried about have it naturally just get an epideral. But if u really dont want the natural way then a C-section is the way to go

Unless there is medical reasons otherwise doctors may not perform C-section for you just because you requested for it. Normal delivery is widely encouraged. As per normal delivery, your body returns to its normal size after delivery thus all those stuffs that you've heard are unfounded.
