Macedonia is in Europe!! It borders with Albania to the West, Serbia to the North,Bulgaria to the East and Greece to the South!! Macedonia is one of the oldest countries in the world!! In the Macedonian language it is pronounced Makedonija!! People call it Macedonia,Makedonija or Macedon from the ancient times!! It does not matter how people pronounce it because there is only one Macedonia!! The country was divided and that is why their are Macedonians in Greece,Albania and Bulgaria!!

There seems to be a lot of confusion.
Let’s clear things up. There is the authentic Macedonia of Greece and there is a small Balkan state that uses the same name.
The authentic Macedonia (or Greek Macedonia) is one of the biggest regions of Greece. It is situated in the north part of Greece and it borders 3 Balkan states.
{According to ancient Greek mythology, Macedon - Greek “Μακεδών” “Makedōn”, poetic “Μακηδών” “Makēdōn” - was the name of the first phylarch (tribal chief) of the “Μακεδόνες” “Makedónes”, the part of the “Μακεδνοί” “Makednoí” tribe which initially settled in Greece in western, southern and central Macedonia and founded the Greek kingdom of Macedon. According to Herodotus (Histories 8.47), the “Makednoí’ were in turn a tribe of the Dorians (yes the Greek tribe). All these names are probably derived from the Doric adjective “μακεδνός” “makednós” (Attic μηκεδανός mēkedanós), meaning "tall". This in turn is derived from the Doric noun μᾶκος mākos (Attic and Modern Greek μάκρος mákros and μῆκος mēkos), meaning "length". Both the Macedonians (Makedónes) and their Makednoí tribal ancestors were regarded as tall people, and they are likely to have received their name on account of their height.}
Macedonia or Macedon has played a most significant part in Greek history! The ancient Macedonia was a Greek kingdom and it was roughly the same size as the modern region of authentic Macedonia. From the Greek state of Macedonia Alexander started his epic campaign of spreading the Greek culture and the Greek civilization all over the known word. His campaign was so successful that for nearly 300 years Greek (Hellenistic) Kingdoms controlled Asia Minor, Middle East, Egypt and even the north part of India.
There is also a state that emerged from Yugoslavia and it is officially recognized by United Nations as FYROM (meaning Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia). That country has no relation with ancient (or modern) Greek Macedonia but it is instead a Slavic/Albanian country. {The 55% of the population are Slav-Macedonians (of Bulgarian origin) and the 35% are Albanian-Macedonians}
The real name of that state is Makedonija (a Slavic alternative of the Greek name Macedonia) but that country is using internationally the Greek name Macedonia and a lot tend to confuse the Slavic/Albanian state with Greek Macedonia).
Of course the government of FYROM (Slavic/Albanian-Macedonia) has clearly stated that they are not linked to Greek Macedonia and Alexander the Great and is still doing a great effort to stop the few fanatics from compromising the stability of the new state.
Also the Slav/Albanian Macedonia is negotiating with Greece (under the UN authority) for an international name that will not insult the Greeks and will not have any claim against Greek Macedonia.
(the same story with the person that uses many fake ID's!!!!! Please use only one)

Macedonia is a geographic area in north Greece,birth place of Alexander the great,and Aristotle,and at a percentage of 51 belongs to Greece.There is also a little country to the left percentage made by communists aggressively against Greece during the cold war with the hope to reach the Mediterranean sea.
The idea was so crazy because they had to know that the Anglo Americans would never,never permit to a Slavic country reach the Mediterranean sea.The bigger and reachest city of Macedonia is Thessaloniki in Greece

Macedonia is in Greece. Don't mixed it with a tiny state in the Balkans -in ex Yugoslavia-which is Slavic and Albanian.
The guy above don't know the difference. Macedon was the ancient Greek kingdom and Macedonia is the name of the region. Makedonija is the Slavic name of FYROM.
( I smell 2 fake identities above :)))))) be careful it is clear)

Macedonia is located in northern Greece, Europe.

There is also a tiny country that emerged from the break up of Yugoslavia which wrongly uses the name of Macedonia. This country is internationally recognized as FYROM and has nothing to do with the authentic Macedonia in Greece.
