I am making a video to put onto the youtube website but am wanting to know if it's possible to make money from it and if I can, then how does it work?

u can, by making a nice one and asking people to donate, or if its radical like numa numa, it will only make fame and the fame with maybe get people to sign contracts to $$$

Of course you can make money. You can put a website link in the video for one, plus you can show how a product works. Say I have a really cool model airplane design and I flash the website before and after the video, or throughout the whole thing, and during the video I show the physics and maneuvers that the plane can exhibit. Well, people are going to be impressed (hopefully) by this demonstration and hopefully at least check out the web site, and more so, hopefully actually buy a plane.

No you can't make money by putting a video on YouTube, but think of it like a rock star getting his song on the radio. Maybe someone will see it and pay you to do something for them.

I don't think you can make money directly off of youtube, but you could embed the video into your own page and put yahoo https://publisher.yahoo.com/ or http://google.com/adsense ads on the page. Or you can upload to one of the alternative sites like http://revver.com that pay you as your video is viewed.

no its just there to see videos. only if you enter a contest or something can you get money.
