It is hard for parents to see their babies grow up and not need them or feel wanted anymore. 19 is not too young if you have a job, are responsible and be able to support yourself. Before telling her you want to move out, have a well thought out plan as to how you are going to pay all of your bills so she will see that you are responsible and tell her you love her, but you are ready to strike out on your own, but will still need her advice on things when you ask for it and will always love her and would like her support of your decision.

Tell your mom that when you turned 18, you are legally an adult. This means thanking your parents for loving and raising you and now you are ready to leave the nest to start your independent life. Some parents are over protective and very hesitant to cut her apron string. Assuming that you have earned her trust and integrity to be a responsible and law abiding adult, she should have no reason to let you go. I am assuming you have no reason to give your mother doubt, i.e. alcohol/drug abuse, petty crime, lack of respect for your parents, etc. The best I can suggest is to take baby steps. First move to an apartment close to home for a while where your mother can visit and see that you are capable and responsible to be living independently. As her confidence in you grow, increase the distance and decrease the amount of contact with your mother.

You're at legal age to be on your own. If you have a job and can pay the rent and bills...then just tell her flat out you are moving! She will either give you a blessing or not! That's her problem, not yours!

Let her know that you need to become your own independent person, that you are not leaving her and she can visit u anytime she wants, heck give her a key if it makes her sleep better.
You might want to stick it out with her for a few more months though and demonstrate your independence this could win her over.
