I mean to say womens magazines suggest women are perfect communicators however if men don't respond maybe women simply ask the wrong questions! Any ideas?

Not all women are perfect communicators. But we do strive for better communication in general (make it more of a priority I guess) But since all guys are different...there's no foolproof way (no pun intended) to get guys to respond.. so yes, it's very likely that women ask the wrong questions.. or in the wrong way.. It takes work to know each other and know how to communicate with one another..

Every word out of a mouth is propaganda geared to influence the thoughts of the listener. Even this answer is trying to sway you to think that I am right. So essentially, we are always struggling to succeed when speaking. As in any battle, there is a winner and a loser. Listen closely next time you are talking to someone, you will see what I am talking about. That is why there is communication difficulty between people, it's not limited to one sex or the other.

communication is always a two way street. if the man does not respond, it's often because the woman is offering up a verbal or emotional traffic jam, and the man knows that no matter how he answers, it's going to get him a night on the couch. other times, the flow is harmonious. and just a little fyi.... the only wrong question is the one never asked.

In order for communication to be effective both parties need to receive/perceive, assimilate and respond.
Communication problems are not related to gender, more often in your teen years you feel you have communication problems with your parents and feel misunderstood, later in life depending on the situation people feel they have communication problems with their partners, their boss, their children etc.

In respect to man/woman communication, personally, I feel that it all relies on respecting each other and learning to read each other. Communication doesn't necessarily have to be spoken words.
In the case of men I think sometimes they shut down because we as women insist on things that they (men)are perhaps unable to put in words at the time.
But just in our defense guys, we only do it because we care.If you ever feel fed up by your loved one asking you something that you can't quite put in words, say it gently, don't answer something you don't mean just to get rid of the nagging.

And last but not least, don't believe anything you read in women's magazines

In a recent purported scientific study, women will say approx 20,000 words in a day vs men 6,000. ,therefore on the above research it could be said that men are responsible for the least communicative practices, however it could also be argued that men communicate more effectively, depends who you communicate with really!!!

communicators and talkers are 2 different things. I have to say that most of the conversations I hear from women are "then jane says that mary told her that jim was drunk". Not a lot of original thought there.
