Chronilogically, here are the major conflicts which have been fought on U.S. soil (technically, the so-called "French & Indian" War - 1754-1760 - was waged nearly 20 years before the "U.S." came into existence in 1776):

1) The American Revolution (1775-1783);
2) The War of 1812 (1812-1815);
3) The Civil War (1861-1865);
4) The "Indian," or "Plains" Wars (1865-1891).

Other conflicts are questionable, given the parameters of the question (i.e., "U.S." soil):

1) The War for Texas Independence (1836) - was fought before Texas became a U.S. state (Texas was, in fact, part of Mexico at the time);
2) The U.S.-Mexican War (1846-1848) - Again, this was fought OUTSIDE U.S. borders at the time;
3) The pursuit of Pancho Villa (1910) did involve U.S. troops, but the only real fighting which occurred on U.S. soil were small raids carried out by Villa on U.S. border towns;
4) World War II (1941-1945) - Pearl Harbor (Hawaii) wasn't officially a U.S. state in 1941, although it was a U.S. territory - and the same can be said for Wake Island (1941), Midway Island (1942) and the Phillipines (1941-1945). So, this one is open to debate.

Mainly because of our location. The United States has the Pacific Ocean on the west and the Atlantic Ocean to the east. That's a lot of water for an invading army to cross. To the north we have Canada to the south Mexico. We are on good terms with both countries. The last time the United States was attacked and invaded by a foreign power was back in 1916 when Mexican general Francisco "Pancho" Villa crossed the border into the U.S. and raided Columbus, New Mexico then Glen Springs, Texas and finally San Ignacio, Texas during the Mexican Revolution.

War of 1812. Several Indian wars. Mormon war (no real shots fired), Pearl Harbor and Alaska during WWII. Poncho Villa, a rebel from Mexico did some boarder raids on civilians but General Pershing's expedition was all in Mexico. Iran zealots invaded the Iranian Embassy which technically was US soil.

War for Texas Independence 1836 was fought on Mexican territory as Texas was part of Mexico then not the US. The later war with Mexico 1847 was again fought on Mexican territory that later became part of the US. But during the times of these wars the land was not part of the US.

The War of 1812. Go visit Ft. McHenry in Baltimore. Maryland is full of that War's history.

The other mentioned "wars" were either not declared wars or weren't actually fought on American soil. Hawaii & Alaska were not states until 1949. Texas was not a state until several years after the Alamo.

I would include the American Revolutionary War as well as the French and Indian War, though some would say that technically it is not so since we were not yet the U.S. But it's the same soil.

World War 2, it was fought in Hawaii. Hawaii was not yet a state, but it was a territory.
The Mexican War in 1840s, in like parts of California and Texas, that area.
WWI could have been a possibility, if we hadn't intercepted that telegram for Mexico from Germany.
