Yes, it's because the owners want cheap labor, so you get low-quality service from indifferent employees who are given indifferent training. Customer service has really become non-existent.

Lazy, rude and scary.
I was at a place in the mall a few years ago, the girl was so slow, I had time to count 43 piercings in her face. There were more on her ears.
I was losing my appetite while waiting for my food. I left there and never ate it. I think she might have had a 2nd job as a lightning rod.
I wonder why the employer did not do something about her, I got back to work and I mentioned it, the girl I sat with knew who I was talking about, it turned out, her b-i-l was the girls boss. He said that kids did not care to work and he could not get rid of her, he was already short handed. He had had multiple complaints about her appearance.
I don't think this will affect the economy that much-- until they get real jobs.

I'm young and hardworking.
However, there are plenty of young people who are rude, expectant, etc.
Lately I've been losing morale, not showing up as much, etc. Tired of the whiney people getting raises because they whine more than I do.
There are people my age who admit to not having done anything, yet they sit at their desks while I move around talking to fellow employees, working out the kinks and focusing. For some reason it is considered less proffessional to move away from your desk - and the management has thought I was goofing off too much because of it.
Really, I should just sit at my desk and surf myspace with the other clerks, but I feel it is immoral and I will be working hard until I'm gone (I've already resigned, and the person they had me training quit, rofl). Little tired of girls getting treated nicer because they are pretty, even though they don't work as hard.
**** work, really. I'm going to go to school full time, get a degree, and take initiative rather than doing volumous work and dealing with bullshit the rest of my life.
Does that answer your question? I need to see a shrink, damn. Just tired of lazy people and deluded management.

I've encountered lazy and rude people at their jobs throughout my life. It's just not with this generation, it was also my generation. I don't know if it will kill the US economy, but it does leave me wondering how generations of parents are raising their kids.
