Can i use this with my xbox 360?

There are 2 different kinds of xbox 12 month starter kits that are out. One is in the original black pakaging, while the other is in the silve packaging. My dad is sending me the black one. Is this compatiable with xbox 360?

if i remember correctly the black on ewas the old live membership for the first xbox, and no that wont work, have him check the box to see if it says 360 on it, if it doesnt then, well it doesnt work with the 360
