The only setting that I can change in the lower part of the fridge is the humidity setting. Obviously I've got this set to 'low.' Nothing is spilled. This is just a constant thing... We are so busy too, my husband works like 14 hours a day and I've been traveling so much.... it sucks! How can I make my fridge stop doings this. I don't know why but even my husband, who usually can fix anything, doesn't know what's wrong...

If your fridge is newer and frost-free, it probably have a blocked drain tube. To keep it frost-free, the freezer will periodically "defrost" with the help of a fan. Any runout will drain from the rear of the freezer down one or two thin plastic tube(s) that runs to an evaporation pan at the base of the fridge. Gradually, dirt blocks this tube(s), normally at the top-most part, and the runoff runs inside the fridge to puddle. In newer fridges, this tube(s) is not visible from the rear, unless you remove the rear panel from the back (unscrew). You may be able to see the drain at the back of the freezer after you remove the food. It could be cleaned with a length of not-too-stiff wire, but best with compressed air. Best of luck!

Wish you would have said what the name of the fridge was. I have a sears, a cheaper one. The "frost free" is the problem they have. The melting is suppose to go down the inside and evaporate on the hot condenser but,.... here the big but, it doesn't work right. After many calls to sears service department they finally admitted, a Young girl apprentice admitted without saying her name.
The problem is the evaporation didn't work that way and it leaked inside the unit. If you look right in the middle on top, near the top shelf, middle is there water there. If so, put a small bowl there, it'll never fill but will always come to almost the top. Every once in a while you'll bump it and spill the water and scream, if this is the problem, I just keep changing it every few weeks. I found this easier then fighting with sears whom didn't want anything to do with it. It's there "white elephant"

Depending on where you live, area that have relatively high humidity should set their humidity setting higher. It is all matter of what is the dew point in your area which is directly affects the condensation of water in your refrigerator. Also you may need to raise the temperature for the refrigerator without compromising health. Another thing to look for is that some models have a vent that allows freezer air to enter the meat compartment, which is at the very bottom. When the refrigerator goes into the defrost cycle, it may blow warm air into the meat compartment area and defrost any icing that have may taken place. If you live in a humid area, you must raise the humidity level in the fridge to prevent overwhelming condensation.
