From my online dating experiences I have found the the man is always very different in person than how they portray themself online and more times than not, that is not a good thing.
Have your initial meeting in a public place and set a time limit on it to no more than 2 hours; that way if things are not working out, you have already given yourself an out. If you really like him you can scheduled then when you would like to meet up with him again.
I would never recommend agreeing to "going away" for a weekend with a man you have not met because in his mind, you have already agreed to have sex with him.
