Yep. Til I was five.
There was this place called Santas Village not far from our home, it was a year round theme park. My folks were taking us there one day and I said "Mom, who is Santa Claus really?". She said "Honey, Santa Claus is really your mom and dad, they bring the presents and leave them for you and pretend, but don't tell your brothers, they're too young." (My brothers were 4 and 3.)
I was devastated. I meant who is his secret identity, like Superman or Batman. I hung onto that secret for something like three years though...didn't tell my brothers because I didn't want to spoil it for them!

As a kid I was Happy with what ever was given to me,I still remember my grandmother making me some dolls and puppets out of old socks. I grew up with tops and marbles, and cans of milk we wrapped yarn around to make then look like a doll, so jolly fat man or a blue elf, I was happy just to be given something, and better if it was new.

Nope.
Then again, my family was Jewish.
I thought Hannukah was the most boring thing on earth. This happens when everyone forgets it's Hannukah while all your friends are celebrating the holidays. Oh, the trauma.
I shall celebrate a secular Christmas!
Oh, and steer clear of jolly, old fat men in parks and schoolyards.

I never believed in Santa Claus. But that's probably because I come from a non-English speaking background and Santa didn't figure too prominently in my ethnic traditions. Of course, that's changing now with the growing influence of Western Culture.

I did, when I was younger. then again, my family ran a convincing scheme to make me believe. It's people like you though, who make fun of the whole thing, that just ruin the holiday spirit. Why take away the fun from kids?
