This question is geared towards getting you to understand the precedence of arithmetic operations. Said another way, which part of the calculation has to be done first?
The basic thing to remember is that parentheses and brackets are first priority and are done from the inside out, then division and multiplication, and then addition and subtraction.
In this case, do (24 - 4) first, yielding 20.
Then do 1910 - 20, yielding 1890.
Finally, do 1890/60, yielding 31.5

You subtract the 4 from the 24 and the result is 20, with the parentheses removed. Now you subtract the 20 from the 1910 and you get 1890, with the brackets removed; So, you now have the 1890 to divide by 60; thus, the result will be 31.5
[1910 - (24 - 4)] / 60 = 31.5

You mean [1910 - (24 - 4)}/ 60 = ??
you need to calculate in the parenthese first, so you got :
[1910 - (24 - 4)] / 60
= [1910 - (20)] / 60
= [1910 - 20] / 60
= 1890 / 60
= 31.5
you should follow these steps: do all the calculate in the parenthese, multiply, divide, addition, substraction. hope you can do on other problems
