Its possible. The attacker can sustain heavy losses if Iran is attacked. I am not saying that Iran can defeat the US and Israel, but they would both suffer losses. Iran is not the same as Iraq.

To the guy who requested for a plane, may I remind you that you don't get too overconfident of your abilities. Iran's military is well armed. Refer to the TOR M1 SAM. They have other similar systems.

Even General Abizaid reckoned that Iran has a powerful military.

The U.S. has never directly attacked any nation known to possess nuclear weapons, nor will it ever. The whole situation with Iran is just like the Cold War, where instead of bombing Iran, we'll cut off its limbs by incapacitating the countries that support its government. Since Iran is no where near the USSR in terms of funding, I assume it will collapse under its own weight far more rapidly.

I read the other day that a US Navy ship was deployed in that area because of Iran. Personally I think it needs to be done. I suspect alot of the foreign insurgency in Iraq is related to Iran. I trust our leaders to make the best decision but it would be nice to see another force hit them. I feel we have extended ourselves enough in Iraq and would like to see other countries step up to end terrorism... If Israel started a sweep like they did earlier and other countries went into Iran while we held down things in Iraq this could be quick and effective and a bad day for terrorist... If Syria and Iran got hit I'm willing to bet things would cool down in Iraq...

I really do not understand fully the status of the negotiations. Hopefully no military conflict will result. The behind the scenes people are still working with them right? While there are still options present, its not going to happen.

President Bush hasn't completely ruled it out as an option, but I think it is very unlikely to occur.
