Even though Bush is the main joke-maker for the Daily Show, it seems there is a never-ending list of Republicans with predispositions to make complete fools of themselves, often in public places (most notably e.g. George Allen, Mark Foley, Donald Rumsfeld, Dick Cheney, Jack Abramoff, Tom Delay, etc.).
With the combination of corruption spreading in Congress as the result of the increasingly bipartisan nature of U.S. politics, and the spreading of both public and private information about politicians on the Internet, comedy shows like Stewart's have an infinite source of political one-liners.

When Bush departs, the republicans will still be there!
That means child abuse cases like Foley's, bribing cases like Abramoff, silly rhetorics from Pat Robertson ... Stewart will continue to have plenty of materials!

He will be 10 times less funny. I think all political humor saw a high point with Bush around, the fad will die when he leaves. He filled the jokeshoes of Clintion very nicely, his predicesor has a lot to live down to.

He's an excellent comedian. He'll just rag on the next guy (or woman).
Why not?
BTW those who suggest he never rags on Democrats are biased. He always jokes about the Democrats' lack of initiative and/or plans.
No bias there. Just fair and balanced, unlike those biased people who say he never rags on Democrats.

Jon Stewart targets idiots, not Republicans. He will continue to crack jokes about whoever steps in it. It just happens to be Bush & Co. right now, because they sure have given him plenty to crack funny about. You just haven't watched him long enough to remember.

I thought tonights episode was pretty awful. It seemed like a repeat. We all know Bush couldn't do a press conference to save his life.

No for people who make a living by being critical of others there is a great incentive to come up with more material about someone in authority or power.
