YES! I have seen this first hand -- with people shoving and pushing and fighting to get things and spending themselves into oblivion.

The latest gadget, the flash-bang gizmo, the fancy toys -- all broken and junk within a week or two (or maybe a few months) of Christmas because the recipient of this largess does NOT value the sacrifices that have been made to purchase these items.

YES!! It is really sad the people that will neglect their bills to buy someone a gift. It also is crazy the way people run around and get rude because they are so afraid they are not going to get something they want. People should just remember the reason for the season and be thankful they are alive and have family and friends to share with,

Yes! I agree with Me-it is the media. All they talk about is shopping and the financial analysts who predict the amount of money the average person will spend. Also, the stores that are open 24 hours until Christmas Day like K-Mart! To me it's okay to shop but control yourself!

very rarely will someone become clinically insane as a result of shopping for christmas gifts. having said that, i think that christmas has become a holiday all about materialism & many people have lost sight of what matters to them. often, however, holiday shoppers appear irrational, frazzled, or frenzied. that alone does not make them crazy, but the behavior is not healthy.

Yes! I used to buy gifts for my family, but I never got them the right gift! They told to me to stop trying! As for friends, they could careless if I got them a gift!

They just want to make their family and relative happy and content. And they want to show to them that they are worthy and valuable as humans.

some yes, and I blame Media for it, just listen to the radio and watch TV ... it is all abut shopping and shopping...
