Hi washing the sneakers in the machine should do the trick on them but make sure they get REALLY DRY. The boots can't do the wash thing you can try fabreeze also the suggestion for socks full of baking soda a nice idea, I wouldn't put a bunch of baby powder in there you'll just wind up with a toe jam factory refuel from that. You can also try getting some charcoal put that in a small brown bag or some socks and put that down in for a few days charcoal is a natural dessicant (draws moisture into itself and it will draw smells away into itself) now were not talking about the briquets you use in the grill it needs to be real charcoal. (see first link) Also try finding him a set of boot dryers, see second link below and more.

My ex-boyfriend had the same problem! No matter what odor eliminating products he used, his feet still smelled through the steel toed leather boots. I finally put baking soda in a pair of socks and put them in there overnight, and kept the cedar chip filled socks handy for any time he would take his boots off during the daytime for a little de-smell and cover scent. you can buy activated charcoal now in some places, I got some of that to use and it worked pretty well. It's the same stuff that's in odor eaters, but I bought alot more than what they put in the insoles and stuck it in his boots overnight, it took most of the stink out.
Febreeze will never get that much stink out, I tried it. You have to use natural products

So I'm gonna answer this question. So I bought these very nice kd 5's just recently from my friend for 40$ and when I got home it smelled like West Indian( not trying to be mean or nothing) but I didn't like the smell so if recommend what I did put dryer sheets in it and around it and put it in its box for 24 hours (use gain) the next day it should be smelling very nice and repeat if needed

The washing machine is a bad idea. (I know from experience. :-\ )
The biggest thing for me is to not wear shoes all the time, to take them off whenever possible. He could also try wearing more than one pair of shoes. I tried some "Odoreaters" thing or something... it didn't work at all.
The best way to dry out wet shoes is by stuffing them with newspaper. It dries them quickly and removes the smell!

Other than buying new sneakers, I'd use Dr. Scholls odor-absorbing powder. Load it in there and let it settle for a few days. I don't think Febreze will work on the boots since they aren't as porous as sneakers. Sounds like he has sweaty feet though. He could also start putting that powder in his socks.

Contrary to what some people like to think, people's feet don't naturally stink.
Your boyfriend has a fungus.
Get him some Lotrimin ointment (best) or if he won't use it, get him some antifungal foot powder.
In any case put the foot powder in all his boots and shoes, and wash his all his socks with bleach.

Your boyfriend needs to take care of the source. Despite what Fabreeze advertises, I think it is just a cover up solution. Your boyfriend's feet smell because of the bacteria growing on his feet. Our feet, arm pits, and groin area are actual breeding grounds for bacteria that cause odor. Your boyfriend needs to wash his feet and then try to keep them dry (i.e. use a foot powder). Good luck, but there really is nothing you can do but tell him to take better care of his feet.

i like those odour eating pucks - they come in a platic tub, about the size of a small sour cream container and as they suck up the smells, they get smaller... they work great in our stinky shoe closet and next to the cat box!
