If somebody has been careful to keep their addresses non-public I have not been able to do it without paying. I have found a lot of people on the directory assistance plus website, who I have not been able to find anywhere else.

If you his name, then login to www.orkut.com and search for him. You can login to orkut.com using your www.gmail.com user id. I tried and got many of my old friends there.. Its very useful to find people whom you want to keep in touch.
