if im talking to someone on a msger.. and it says idle, does that apply only if theyre not talking to me??
can it still tell me idle if theyre not typing to me but someone else..

You can actually put you messenger like msn on idle click under MY STATUS you see there options be right back, off line so your on but people dont see your on, then theres that on phone, and your idle and so on check it out.
Idle applies to everyone thats sees it and you can still chat to other people even if you have it set on idle (away).

idle means they don't do any activity with the messenger, not only with you but with the whole... but the time is setting by their own, so it's not the same for all people.. some people will be idle if there are no activity in 10 minutes or some in 15..etc

idle is idle from everyone, more so away from the computer, not just your conversation..

mine only says idle when i've left it for 10+ minutes. maybe they're not there.
