another: when i'm watching in youtube,,, sometimes after or even when while watching the pc reboot. but most of the time it happens as soon as i click the "back & close

then today i installed typer shark, i managed to play it in a while, but when i decided to close the window, exactly as i click the mouse to the "X" of the windows,,,the pc reboot. sigh... please help

You did not tell whether you added extra memory(256MB RAM) or not and also was it ok before addition.

Now, I am very sure that you have a hardware conflict and incompatible memory in one of those memory slots. because your system simply did not detect the memory there. may be the memory is bad also.

The solution is that you have to remove the conflicting memory from the slot and then try whether the problem is solved or not.

if you go to start>programs>accessories>system tools>system info>hardware> conflict/share will show you any other conflict as well. also, the summary tabt will show what is the actualy memory detected and i gues it is only 256MB in your case.

In the summary tab, you will ahve your system model and you can check online what is the compatible memory for your sytem.

Hope it helps.

Does the blue screen come up saying it's performing a memory dump before it reboots? I believe this might be due to the fact you're running two memory sticks with different speeds. I'm assuming it's supporting the 133 and not the 300. You should just get rid of your two 256mb cards and buy a new 512mb 133. I had this problem with my old computer when I tried installing RAM with a different speed than the one already on my computer. If you don't need 512mb of memory, then just take one of the sticks out and it should be fine.

Well the fact that your ram does not add up the way its supposed to is a dead giveaway that something's wrong with your RAM and that would also cause problems you are describing. Check your motherboard manual to find out what kind of RAM is supported and make sure you are using the right type and size. PC 300 and PC 133 are generally not compatible. The first one is DDR and the other is SDRAM.

Change your RAM. Both the RAM sticks should be identical in all parameters (other than size which you can have of the same size or different) such as speed and type of RAM lest either the PC will not boot or will detect only one RAM stick or will have booting problem like in your case.

this is a hardware concern. commonly it occurs once you install extra suitable hardware and your power furnish does not help the output. even though it could additionally be brought about by ability of virus. attempt to reinstall homestead windows and after that set up an antivirus, and test the computing device for viruses. If it nonetheless restarts this is a hardware concern
