I was watching the news about that rapist in Texas who has raped several men, but they say he's raped far more but none of them will come forward. Why is it that men if raped, are less likely than a woman to report a rape?

I'm a woman and I know if I was raped I sure as hell would report it. But why would a man not want to? Is it that they are not affected as much? If some one hurts another human ... the other human usually wants and gets revenge, and in a rape case, it's by getting the rapist put in jail.

I think it is more of an embarrasment than anything else. Although I personally don't see anything embarrasing about rape. But I discussed this with my honey and he said...men are supposed to be stronger and able to fight off an attack. When the attacker is a woman, I believe the guy feels maybe nobody would believe him, or the idea that he didn't want it. Otherwise he doesn't want to admit that he had to submit to this "woman". When its another guy that did the raping, as my honey says, would you go bragging about losing a fight? It would be admitting weakness and men are afraid of being seen as weak or not in control.
I think rape is rape and I wish more men would come forward when it happens to them. Some women are too embarrased to come forward as well. So sad.

The problem is that first of all very few people wil accept the fac that a man (or a male of any age) CAN be raped by another man. As an example, when I was in grammer school, there was a boy that had been moloested by a male relative. He was, for many years after this became known, treated like HE was the one that had done something wrong. He was bullied, teased, called all sorts of degrading names. It is far worse for adult males. IF they are believed at all it becomes a far more degrading experience becasue the court case ofgter come out to them having to prove that they are not homosexual and that the rape is little more than a lovers quarel. Men are expected to be the agressors in attacks, or to be able to fend off such an attacker and it is assumed, becasue of the construction of anatomy that a male MUST be a participant in order for ANY sexual activity to take place. The embarrassment usually wins out over anything else.

Because I think men subconsciously want to conquer as much pu**y as possible and if he's raped especially by an ugly woman hey... at least he has an excuse... he was raped by her Personally I'd never be able to act out that kind of behavior physically but some men don't have impulse control I guess. Sad...but...true

I am a woman and I was raped and I never reported it. You feel ashamed, humiliated, i was threatened, and i felt alot of guilt from being somewhere i shouldn't have been.

Both men and woman don't report for various reasons. but what I think is men are less likly to report because they feel like less of a man because it happend---they also feel embarassed and if they are still in highschool they will be made fun of.

In this country, women get sympathy for being assaulted because it's generally accepted that what happened was out of their control. If the same thing happens to a man, people might think that there's something effeminate about him because he wasn't able to defend himself or that he let it happen because he liked it. Revenge can only be enjoyed in a situation where others are supporting you in your triumph. When you may be blamed for the action, you probably don't want anyone to know about it, no matter what happens to the person who hurt you.

if i was raped by a guy it would be horrible! I'd be afraid of saying it because it would be embarrasing, and a hurt Pride: for one guy to say he couldnt stop another guy from sticking him, maybe the victim would think others would think he is gay now and blah blah blah...
