Dry and/or greasy skin due to poor oil composition of the skin. Thick greasy oils clog pores, lack of oil leads to dryness and irritation. You need thin oils to moisturize while dissolving and clearing gunk in your poors. Try fish oil or seafood. 2 tsp fish oil a day or 4 servings of seafood a week. Stick it out for at least 2 months; it will take a long time to replace all your oil. Any effect after 1-2 days is temporary or random; so even if it makes you break out a little at first, you haven't given it a full try yet.
In the short term you can wash and moisturize well, but that will only go so far. Plus excessive washing can be drying and excessive moisturizing can be clogging. Use a small amount of a light moisturizer, made with oil not jelly or grease. Often that means soybean oil or mineral oil. Mineral oil means mined from the ground. So soybean oil is usually better, though mineral oil won't cause too much harm. Clean with soap and water, not a harsh acne cleanser. Even then they only work so well. So you really need the seafood.
Antibiotics aren't really good for bacteria long term, they'll come back in force after. Short term they may help. After you get off them find some kefir with acidophilus listed first or 2nd to replace the friendly bacteria they destroyed. Studies show less illness when you have these bacteria, even outside the stomach in places such as the lungs and elsewhere. You want friendly bacteria to fill the void when the antibiotics stop, not harmful ones.
In the short term you might also try 100,000+ iu retinol vitamin A (a megadose, and too much for normal use) or one of the acne drugs that is similar to retinol vitamin A. It's some minor harm to your organs, but it helps against bacteria on your skin. At least it doesn't have the other long term drawbacks to your skin that antibiotics and many scrubs do.
If you would like to learn how to treat your acne permanently and regain your health and wellbeing, without drugs, without typical acne treatments, and without any side effects, then this will be the most important letter you will ever read.

Acne creams dont work! Truly, its a scam.
You should read this book called "Dont Go To The Cosmetics Counter Without Me". I just got it out from the library and it lists all the products and their ingredients and what actually works.
It says for acne prone skin Milk Of Magnesia (from the chemist) is what should be used as a face mask.
I havent tried it yet, so I cant tell you if it works. But I use Aloe Vera sap from a plant on my skin and it works well. I just break off a 'leaf' and rub it on my skin. It is a natural disinfectant and cleanses the skin.
When you think about it, no chemicals are going to work on skin. Its best to 'go natural'.
I suggest you read this book. Its really informative and tells you whats in all the makeups and stuff too, and what will irritate your skin.
All the best!

I have sensitive skin, and I have used everything on the market - murad, proactiv, clinique, neutrogena...I swear now by my Joesoef Skin Care Anti-Acne Kit! I have beautiful skin now! My skin cleared after using the kit for about 3-4 weeks. I also started wearing a sunscreen (tinted from the drugstore!), drink lots of water, and take a vitamin with zinc and selenium. The Joesoef Skin Care people gave me lots of recommendations. I just emailed them, told them about my skin type, and they gave me a list of products to try. Once I cleared, I started using their vitamin e facial foam cleanser, which I also love. I am going to try their sunscreen with spf 30, and also their glycolic face cream, which I have read alot of reviews about. Lots of people like the Joesoef Glycolic face peel.

DON'T try Proactive if you have sensitive skin... Try MD formulations Facial Lotion, it will banish acne and give you beautiful glowing even tone skin due to the Glycolic Acid (AHA) which is an exfoliate.. I once had the same problem, this i trust and I'm sure you will love. good luck.

I use proactive. It's awesome and usually works fine on it's own. I also went to a dermotologist and got a Retin-A cream that helps a lot. The birth control pill works great for acne too.

Proactiv works.........believe me my skin was terriable and now it rocks!!! Clear skin is awesome. It is very nice for sensitive skin... it does not sting or rash your skin. It makes me feel so clean and fresh after having it on. Also I'd recommmend the Proactiv coverup which is to use when you are a Proactiv user and covers it all while it is being healed. I love it soooo much and it works well and feels well. Yuo can also keep the Proactiv mask on for 10 min. or overnight and it feels like you had a facial!!!!!! Its not cheap but seriously........
YOU HAVE TO GET IT!!!!!
