I find it odd that people would have mounted stuffed animals in their homes.
I know that taxidermy is used for other purposes than this, but to want a once live animal on show in your abode is a little bizarre, or as another answerer pointed out, stuffing your pet.
Would you stuff your grandmother?

Yes, as a matter of fact I think so to. I think it is a leftover from the 20s and 40s. It truly is a BS thing. And I am not an animal rights person. I am against cruelty to animals but see nothing wrong with hunting for food. Trophys? 100 years ago maybe but now it seems lame. Sorry hunters and others. If I knew someone with an animal that was stuffed I would wonder about that person's sanity.

Yeah, I always think of Norman Bates stuffing those birds and eating peanut butter at the same time. Those singing dear head things at Wal-Mart creep me out too.
On a lighter note . . . . . . . . . who else remembers the time Johnny Knoxville took his grandma into different taxidermy shoppes to get estimates for having her stuffed. Hilarious! Grandma never cracked a smile. The creepy thing was that some of the shop owners did not seem to be freaked out.

I understand hunters wanting to show off the antlers from the deer they kill, but I can't stand seeing deer/boar heads mounted on the wall. I'm not a vegetarian by any means but it makes me sad... I hate trophy-killing.
