I read that couples that sleep facing each other are "closer" than couples that sleep back to back or even with the man curled up behind the woman. Is that true? Why? I would want my boyfriend curled up behind me with his arm over me. We're close.

Face to face is not that good. Man to womans back works just fine.

Couples who sleep face to face are usually in the early stages of the relationship. Couples who sleep back to back or far apart from eachother are very independent from eachother in life. When couples sleep in a spoon positions, whoever is the spooner, is the protector. Finally, the healthiest relationship is when 2 people sleep with a foot draped over the others. This shows independence, while showing you are part of the couple. This is totally unconscious. You can't make yourself do this. Also, don't rate your relationship by the way you sleep. There is so much more than that. A lot of times, it's simply about comfort.

IDK exactly but I have experience of my gf often wanting and preferring me to sleep behind her.. It doesn't feel as close as sleeping face 2 face. I would have to say the statement in my opinion is true. The body language from sleeping back 2 back is far more negative than face 2 face.

Honestly, after you're married for a few years, I seriously don't think it matters that much. If you sleep face to face, you'll probably be more concerned about his breath rather than how close you are depending on how you sleep..
