You can try it, but I wouldn't turn it on without the Cpu and heatsink attached first. You don't have to have the Hard-Drive or CD-Rom drive attached, but you should also include the ram.

No. The computer couldn't boot up without the CPU or ram. Once those are installed, you could test the system without installing software by using a linux live cd. If everything tests out, then you could install your OS or continue using the live cd and use the hard drive for storage.

Just one word of caution on that route....Linux isn't as user friendly as Windows as far as installing and removing programs go, but it is a much better system.

No. The first thing you should install on the motherboard is the cpu and ram. Those are the basic components to boot up. It you've done that correctly, you will be able to enter the BIOS and check your settings.

No there is now way to do this, because to boot up a computer it needs room like ram and a processor to create a program or display the operating system. without either one your computer would not boot at all.

You probably would have to have those installed in order to let it work, those are some of the important things that computer runs on..

for runing minimum must hav :
cpu / mainboard / power suply / ram / VGA
to test how it run.........
