Try celebrating the end of winter or end of short days. Consider celebrating the end of a year but recognize the positive accomplishments and focus on what worked. Set new goals to improve on old ones for the new year. Show consideration for the variety of people and different ways to celebrate any festive occasion.....Try not to judge people regardless of how or when they celebrate any holiday, do try to understand.

Well, we don't. Christmas wasn't originally a christian holiday anyway. It was a celebration of the changing seasons. And even then it was religious. Humans have that tendency. However, we celebrate Christmas as a time of family. I personally celebrate it as the beginning of winter and part of my birthday.

We give gifts and such because that is tradition. And we have dinner and put up decorations, again because of tradition. And the tree and caroling and gift giving and such was actually pagan in origin anyway. But we don't put up decorations that are christian or give cards and such with christian themes.

And of course.. the new year is the new year and requires imbibing of deliscious alcoholic beverages and fun with friends.

You can help others who are needy, such as go volunteer at a homeless shelter serving a holiday meal. You can go to the movies, you can go ice skating, you can have friends in family over for food. Getting together with loved ones does not have to be about religion.

donate toys to needy children, get a group together and pass out cookies at a nursing home, find a family in your neighborhood that is less fortunate and put a present on the doorstep with a gift card to a retail or grocery store, ring the bell and run....

In short, do something uplifting for someone you don't know, or that doesn't know it was you that did it for them......

Kindness to fellow man is a wonderful thing, whether you do it for religous reasons, or if you just want to encourage others.

If you dont associate CHRISTmas with CHRIST, why bother celebrating at all? Just sit at home and look at TV. Jehovas Witnesses do not believe that Christ was the Savior of the world and they do not recognize Christmas at all. Ask one of them what to do. Linger too long and not only will you know how to take Christ out of Christmas, you will also forget to celebrate your birthday, skip the funerals of those you love and shun anyone that does not believe the same

Yule was a holiday long before the time of Christ. Celebrate the solstice, find peace within yourself, and enjoy the beauty of nature.
Spend some time researching the ancient traditions of Yule.
It is a special holiday even for those poor meager few of us who are not Christian.
Duh!
