Isn't this just an example of politicians demagoguing the issue for their own personal gain or self-preservation.

This is somewhat of a difficult question. I don't believe that they should just for urinating in public, but maybe for indecent exposure. Being labeled as a sex offender is a huge deal and you will always have to register as a sex offender. But on the other hand, did the person do it in front of kids? I think that it depends on what the situation was.

Nope. Unfortunately may places have included indecent exposure and public nudity under the umbrella of sex crime legislation so slipping behind a dumpster to take a leak is now in the same class as rape and child molesting.

I could understand if the person did it in view of children, wouldn't necessarily agree with the severity, but I would at least understand their logic.

Circumstances may vary. Some people say yes/no. I personally think that as long as no one else sees it, then okay. Don't go and urinate in the front of a mall or church. Lines have to be drawn for the people that make a joke out of everything.

First off, your post-subject text is IRRELEVANT and UNNECESSARY.
Now, this question really has no factual answer.... However, I think that the reliever in question should only be put on the S.O.R. if that person was exposed. Countless minds are corrupted with images that are "innocently" bestowed upon them... this "harmless" exposure has started many addictive habits and ruined many lives.

I don't think so -- The offender registry is great for political fodder, but little else, in my opinion.

In my state, it is also possible to be put on the sexual offender registry for shoplifting a pornographic magazine. I am not condoning shoplifting, but come on now. . .

Where was the person urinating? In front of prostitutes? Kids/ Maybe there is more to this than meets the eye? As it were.

I don't like seeing people piss in front of me. There are washrooms, there are trees. So if the perp is pissing in front of teenage girls...yup, I'd be concerned.
